On 16th November, 1914, the 4th Middlesex battalion of 8 Brigade, 3rd Division marched to Neuve Eglise and then on to Wulverghem where they relieved a battalion of the Scottish Rifles. During the relief they suffered some casualties from enemy shellfire, one of whom was Frederick Farrant. |
